From the Buddha: the "Five Remembrances" we should recall each day. (taken from Thich Nhat Hahn's The Heart of Buddha's Teachings)

1) I am of the nature to grow old. There is no way to escape growing old.

2) I am of the nature to have ill health. There is no way to escape having ill-health

3) I am of the nature to die. There is no way to avoid Death.

4) All that is dear to me and everyone I love are of the nature to change. There is no way to avoid being separated from them.

5) My actions are my only true belongings. I cannot escape the consequences of my actions. My actions are the ground on which I stand.

This is just what somebody going through a "mid-life" crisis needs to hear!

For a while there I was going through one every few days. I'm starting to think the only thing a midlife crisis really means is that you're bored...

It is possible to be both bored and in crisis. I'm in denial, most men don't live to 102. How are you going through a mid-life crisis at 25? I know that you're not bored. You lead the most active life of anyone that I know.
